What are Boiler Problems?

As one of the most crucial components in a production process, it is important for an industrial factory to maintain and pay attention to the “health” of its boiler. Routine maintenance is needed to prevent the occurrence of various problems during production which can result in a decrease of production output which would obviously be detrimental to the company. Various repairs that are often needed in boiler maintenance include boiler retubing, boiler cleaning, replacement of boiler parts, repair of boiler insulation or boiler jacketing, and boiler pipe replacement.

In the industrial world, there is the term “boiler problems” which is defined as problems that arise or often occur within the boiler. Continuous use and overexertion of the boiler machine will eventually cause problems, so routine maintenance is highly recommended. In boiler machines, there are two parts that often experience problems, namely the parts that contain water and fire. Rusting and corrosion are frequent causes of problems within boiler machines. These problems can be overcome with chemical water side boilers and chemical fire side boilers which should be carried out by experts.

1. Solution to Overcome Crust Problems

Continuous use of a boiler with constant heating will cause scale problems or crust problems in the boiler, which is the most common and frequently encountered boiler problem. Crust sticking to the walls of the boiler pipe will cause the diameter of the pipe to narrow and if left unchecked can cause:

  1. Reduced production capacity due to a narrowing pipe diameter.
  2. Overheating due to the layer of crust being an insulator (which is not a good conductor of heat) requiring excessive heat during the production process. All that creating a high possibility of fuel leakage.

Crust problems arise due to various factors, one of which is often found to be poor quality feed water. The high level of hardness in the water which is then heated to a certain temperature and is continuously in the boiler will slowly form scale. The solution to this crust problem is to use a scale remover. How do we use a scale remover? We can help you deal with scale problems in your boiler.

2. Solutions to Corrosion or Rusting

Another problem besides scale problems is rusting or corrosion within boiler pipes. Corrosion in boiler pipes can cause:

  1. Reduction of thickness of the pipe, causing it to become brittle and can could cause leaks in the pipe if left alone.
  2. Buildup of sediment as a result of corrosion which can cause blockage in the pipes.
  3. Erosion of the pipe which can cause it to break.

The problem of corrosion in boiler pipes occurs on both the water and fire sides.

These problems commonly occur due to feed water that still contains substantially high levels of oxygen, system leaks, and deposits (under deposit corrosion). Prevention and solutions to these problems can be solved by using boiler chemicals which function to reduce oxygen levels, injection of oxygen scavengers, and the use of corrosion inhibitors which help reduce the occurrence of corrosion. What if corrosion has already occurred in the boiler pipe? Rush remover is used to remove rust that has formed. We have experts with more than 40 years of experience in dealing with corrosion problems in boiler pipes.
